What is a Reseat Process?

Reseat is a process where all season ticket holders in the arena select new seats. Everyone who places a seat deposit will receive an appointment window when they will select from any available seats in the arena. Appointment windows will be determined by Nittany Lion Club Priority Point order. A reseat is a common practice at many collegiate athletic institutions and widely used across the country.

This is different from a standard renewal year. During a reseat year, a deposit must be placed to be eligible to select seats during the reseat. Deposits can be placed for both existing and new season ticket holders here.

Why is the Reseat Taking Place?

As part of the yearly evaluation process and based on feedback received in the 2021-22 postseason season ticket holder surveys, Penn State Athletics reviewed many options to create a true home-court advantage as part of an extraordinary student-athlete and fan experience. A full reseat will allow Penn State Athletics to achieve the following goals that are central to our mission:

  • In order to enhance the game day experience for all fans and create the best home-court atmosphere, Legion of Blue, the official student section for Penn State Men's Basketball, will be relocated to sections 101L-110L, located behind the home and visiting team benches, with additional student seating continuing to be behind the baskets. The relocation of the student section will enhance the game day atmosphere, the student-athlete experience, the Penn State student experience and the overall fan experience by helping to create an intimidating and raucous environment for opposing teams.
  • In addition to providing a great in-venue environment, moving the student section to behind the benches will also showcase Legion of Blue and Nittany Nation's support for our men's basketball program for those watching at home, as well as impacting what recruits see on television.
  • The reseat provides all fans the opportunity to enhance their seats by reviewing all available inventory and amenities.
  • The reseat rewards season ticket holders and donors with priority access to selecting seats during the reseat process based on their Nittany Lion Club Priority Points.

The NLC Experience
Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is truly a self-sustaining athletic department; therefore, intercollegiate athletics does not receive any state or university funding for annual operating expenses. The mission of the Nittany Lion Club is to provide annual scholarship support to Penn State University student-athletes and to develop private support for capital projects, endowments and other needs as prioritized by Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics.

The Nittany Lion Club Levi Lamb fund is the general fund for all 31 varsity sports at Penn State. By making a gift to this fund you provide financial aid to benefit student-athletes and provide the resources they need to excel in the classroom and in competition. Your gift enables them to train and study in state-of-the-art facilities such as the Morgan Academic Center. Currently, the maximum numbers of scholarships allowed by the NCAA are given to over 800 deserving student-athletes.

In a renewal process, everyone has the opportunity to renew the same seats, and changes are only available based on availability during the seat upgrade process.
